Antique mahogany tea trolley with wheels and drop leaves
This antique mahogany tea trolley with wheels combines functionality and classic aesthetics in an especially practical side piece. Its drop-leaf design allows you to expand the top surface when more space is needed and reduce the depth when closed, making it easier to maneuver through narrow areas.
It features a handle on one end, two side wheels, and a bottom shelf that reinforces its utility as a service or side table. Its dimensions are 88 x 68.5 x H71.5 cm open and 88 x 40.5 x H71.5 cm closed.
History, design, and decorative value
Traditionally, this type of furniture was used to transport and serve drinks, coffee, tea, desserts, or small snacks between different rooms in the house. It was also useful as a mobile side table in dining rooms and living rooms.
The antique mahogany tea trolley with wheels stands out for its drop-leaf system. When the leaves are deployed, the top gains width, offering a more comfortable surface for presenting tableware, bottles, glasses, or trays. When folded, the piece becomes narrower and more manageable, which is especially useful in small spaces or hallways.
Its silhouette has a classic and balanced air: smooth-lined top, turned handle, decorative spoked wheels, stylized legs, and a bottom shelf for storage or display. Today, it can be integrated into a living room, dining room, office, or even a shop with traditional decor.
In addition to its practical function, it brings a sense of order and elegance. It can be used as a drink cart, side table, stand for a porcelain collection, or as a decorative piece next to a lamp, a liquor cabinet, or a coffee set.
